Essay on "Ramzan Idd" in English

People of different religions live in India. Every religion has its own different festivals. The Muslim community also celebrates many festivals. Idd is considered to be an important festival of Muslims. On the day of Idd, the whole Muslim Brotherhood is very much happy. Idd is the festival of love, fraternity and unity.

The festival of Idd is celebrated twice a year. Both of the times it is called by separate names: Idul Fiter and Idul-Juha. In the first place, it often comes in months of February-March. Then it is named "Idul Fiter”. On the second time, it often falls in the month of May. At this time it is called Idul- Juha. At every time as soon as the month of Ramzan (the ninth month of the Mohammedan year) ends. It is Idd on the next date.

As the 'Ramayan' for the Hindus, the ‘Bible' for the Christians and the 'Guru Granth Sahib' for the Sikhs are holy, so the 'Quran Shareef' is the holy book for the Muslims. It is said that the holy book “Quran Shareef” came to the world in the month of Ramzan. So the festival of Idd is celebrated every year as the birthday ceremony of the “Quran Shareef".

People keep Roza (fast) for the whole month of Ramzan. On the day of 'Idd', Muslims get up early in the morning, wear new clothes and then go to Iddgah for Namaz (prayer to God). After Namaz, they embrace each other and pay blessings of Idd to each other. At many places, a fair is held at places of Iddgah. Children in new clothes are happy on this day. Some Muslims give charity (alms) to the poor

The festival of Idd is celebrated with mirth and delight in all the countries of the world. By keeping Roza (fast) for thirty days, the body and soul become pure. The act of feeding vermicellies (Sewain) and embracing each other increase love and affection. This festival is the festival of love and unity. We all should celebrate it unitedly.
