Essay on Plantation in English

Man has deep relation with nature. When he came into existence, he took shelter in the lap of nature. He made his dwelling in trees to save himself from wild animals. Fresh fruit were his food and his drink was the clear water of the rivers. He covered his body with the bark of trees. He used wood to make fire. His tools were made of wood and the bamboos.

Plantation means to plant trees or plants. The main object of trees is to keep man's balance with nature. The scientists say if there are no plants or trees in the world, there is no life on earth.

As the mankind developed, the cutting of trees increased for fuelwood, fodder and other domestic needs. The roofs, doors, windows, etc. are made of wood. Corn, vegetables, salad, etc. are also taken from vegetation. Different kinds of medicines are also prepared from dry or green plants and trees. Thus we get food, fruit, vegetables, flowers, fuelwood and coal from trees. This means an enormous loss of the green cover.

We need oxygen for our living. Every time we breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon-dioxide. Trees and plants absorb carbon-dioxide and give us oxygen back.

Moreover trees also check the swift flow of water and save us from floods and soil erosion. Plants and trees also help us in fighting against the spread of deserts.

Many industries such as paper, match, games, rubber, gum, etc. get raw materials from trees. They also help for the formation of rain clouds and then cause rainfall which is very useful for all living beings, agriculture and vegetation. Thus we conclude that trees and plants are great friends of mankind.

So, on the occasion of Van-Mahotsava every one of us should plant trees and take care of their protection in future.
