National unity is the most important asset of a country. Hundreds of years ago when there was unity in every corner of our land, she was considered to be a great country. At that time there was one thought and one language. But now our religion and culture seems to be disturbed. It is due to disunity in our nation. National unity has the greatest value of all the other qualities, in our country. After a long struggle of nearly one thousand years, we are fortunate to get our freedom. Many persons sacrificed their lives and numerous mothers lost their sons to attain our freedom. Thus having suffered so many hardships and tortures we got freedom. Now we should not lose this freedom for our differences and disunity. If we cannot save our unity, foreign countries will make their improper and selfish gain and try to harm us.
Besides our national unity, we should have oneness in our thoughts and language. It is the duty of every true citizen that he should try faithfully to keep the national unity and the traitors should never be allowed to flourish.
Without national unity our country can neither make any progress nor rise. Many leaders have sacrificed their lives for the sake of our national integration. Among such leaders the names of Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose are praise worthy.
So we should be very careful to keep solidarity and unity of our country. We should be vigilant not only on our frontiers but also be careful from the traitors living inside our country. This is the way we can keep our national unity.
