The circle of seasons always rotates in India. We have six seasons in our country. They are the spring, the summer. the rains, the early winter, the winter and the autumn. Each season has some special features. In summer hot waves of heat move day and night. In rainy season we get abundant rainfall. During Shishir (late winter) the old leaves of trees fall and the spring season starts with new freshness and beauty in nature. Really spring is the season of flowers. It is the king of all seasons.
The arrival of the spring season is during the Hindi months of Chaitra and Baisakh. It starts when the winter ends. At the advent of the spring season, the nature begins to beautify itself. New buds begin to come out of trees and plants. Small plants begin to bloom with flowers. The flowers of rose, the jasmine, the moulsari and the flowers of marigold attract the people with their colourful beauty. This is the time when mango trees blossom with small flowers. The cuckoos coo in gardens. An all round sight of charming fields of yellow flowers enhances joy and intoxication in hearts.
All men, birds and animals are impressed with the spring season. They seem joyful. The black bees are seen buzzing upon flowers. Man's joy is seen in different festivals. Holi is the most jouful festival of spring. It is the festival of exhilaration and cheerfulness. Men and women, old and young all are seen in a very joyful mood.
Fastival of Basant Panchami is also celebrated during this delightful season. This day is also performed as the birthday of goddess, Saraswati. On this day people often cook yellow rice or porridge (Halwa). Children and women generally wear yellow dress. They sing, dance and make merry. Everyone is over joyed during these joyful days of spring season.
Of course spring season is the king of all seasons. Poets have composed their poems on its grace and beauty. This season has been glorified in nearly all countries.
